The five-day long wedding extravaganza of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor came to an end with a high profile wedding reception in Delhi. The couple is expected to return to Mumbai by October 21 after a few other ceremonies in Pataudi, and as soon as they come back there is nothing, not even a honeymoon, but work on their mind.

Kareena Kapoor’s first task post her marriage is the shooting of her item song with Salman Khan for the movie Dabangg 2 in Mumbai. She will start filming for the special song from October 22. The song is already riding on buzz because it’s going to be picturized on Sallu and Kareena. While from November 1 the actress will start promoting Talaash with Aamir Khan.

Like Kareena, Saif’s date diary is also full. According to reports, after November 1, he too will start shooting for Tigmanshu Dhulia’s film Bullet Raja in Madhya Pradesh. The couple has some time in December, and they will fly to their favourite destination Switzerland for the honeymoon.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor will return to India reportedly by January 7, 2013. Soon after Bebo starts shooting for Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha in Bhopal, and Saif Ali Khan will start promoting Race 2. The movie is going to hit the theatres on January 25, 2013.

So, the newly married Mr and Mrs Khan are going to be really busy!

Gurgaon: After five-day-long wedding celebrations in Mumbai and Delhi, actress Kareena Kapoor reached Ibrahim Palace Friday along with her husband Saif Ali Khan, a relative said.

Ibrahim Palace is Saif`s ancestral home, 26 km from here. Saif-Kareena, who completed the formalities of a registered marriage Tuesday, came here with a few selected relatives for a traditional family feast, said a source.

Sharmila Tagore, Saif`s mother, reached the mansion in the morning, while the actor`s daughter Sarah and sister Soha accompanied them.

From Oct 1, Pataudi Palace, being run by Neemrana Hotels, had put bookings on hold and since than Sharmila has been visiting the mansion regularly.

On Thursday evening, relatives from Pakistan arrived at the Pataudi Palace. The family will stay there till Saturday.

After the death of Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, his son Saif was anointed the 10th nawab of Pataudi (symbolic) by the heads and prominent figures of 52 villages of the area. But for the Friday`s function, none of them were invited.

Locals were seen standing near the main gate since morning, but they could not have a glimpse of Saif-Kareena as the security was beefed up by a private company.

Mansoor Ali, who died in New Delhi Sep 22 last year, is buried in the palace compound along with his forefathers.

The latest rumour is doing the rounds that Saif's mother Sharmila Tagore has invited the President Pranab Mukherjee to the wedding ceremony. A leading daily revealed that Sharmila met Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and spent about 15 minutes

Not many people know that in Pataudi palace, films like Veer Zara, Mangal Pandey, Rang De Basanti, Gandhi My Father were shot. Also famous Hollywood film Eat, Pray, Love featuring Julia Roberts was also filmed in the same palace. Saif and Kareena's wedding reception will take place in the same palace

Saifeena's wedding card is finally out. The card has been addressed to Nawab and Begum Kazim Ali Khan of Rampur in Uttar Pradesh. And, as confirmed by Sharmila Tagore before, Saifeena's Dawat-e-Walima (wedding reception) will take place on October 18 at Pataudi palace

It has been revealed that for Saifeena's wedding, more than fifteen varieties of paans from Jaipur would be served to the guests at the entrance. Also only few friends and close family members will be present for the occasion

Kareena Kapoor will be wearing Sharmila Tagore's wedding dress on her big day. The vintage 'joda' was gifted to Sharmila Tagore by her mother-in-law, Begum Sajida Sultan of Bhopal, who wore it for her wedding with cricketer Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi in 1969

Chennai Express is an upcoming Bollywood action romance film directed by Rohit Shettyand starring Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. This is the second collaboration between Khan and Padukone after the 2007 blockbuster Om Shanti Om. Principal photography began on the 27th of September 2012

Production

Development

Khan and Shetty had originally planned to team up for a remake of the 1982 film Angoor. After Singham, Shetty had begun writing the script of the film but left it mid-way.^[2]Incidentally, he had the script of Chennai Express ready to be narrated to Khan as a back-up due to the difficulty of obtaining the actor's filming dates.^[3] Upon being narrated the script, Khan was impressed with the idea of Chennai Express and agreed to star in it. With this development, the remake of Angoor was pushed back.
When Rohit was asked about the story of the film, he said, "It's a hard-core commercial film with a romantic angle. The story is about this man's travel from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and what happens during the journey. There is a lot of romance keeping Shah Rukh in mind but it will also be a typical Rohit Shetty film with cars blowing and lots of action."^[4]

Casting and Filming

Khan was the first actor to be approached with the script, and hence the first lead actor to be signed on to the film. Incidentally, Shetty stated that despite the title, Khan would not play the role of a South Indian in the film. The casting of the lead heroine was speculated for a good deal of time. Names such as Kareena Kapoor Asin Thottumkal orDeepika Padukone were rumored by the media.^[5] In an interview, a visibly angry Shetty denied all rumours surrounding the leading heroine, stating that the cast would be finalized in April 2012 and that he was going to cast an established actress as the leading lady.^[6] However, in August it was officially announced that Deepika Padukone has been signed to play the lead opposite Khan.^[7] Principal photography began on the 27th of September 2012.
